First, you need to know the real reason stooping your hard drive from booting. When you power up your computer try to detect the spinning sound of your hard drive. If the hard drive is spinning but with a clicking sound then the problem is probably from the wear and tear in the axis of the hard drive. Freezing could contract some components of the hard drive or fix a small breakage in the circuit board which enables a temporary hard drive recovery for a very short period. This permits copying some of the important data on the drive before it falls dead again.

Also you may try holding the hard drive while it is connected to the computer and when it starts to spin, twisted in a right angle manner then get it back to its original position, hard recovery experts say that this may loosen a bulged head or put it back on the track. These techniques may help in hard drive data recovery and could be used instead
