Hard drive recovery is so simple if you really know what is wrong with your hard drive. Detecting what is wrong with the hard drive gives you an idea about the possible solutions that can save you the fees of a hard drive recovery service. Let us take a look about the possibilities here.

First, you need to know the real reason stooping your hard drive from booting. If the computer cannot detect the hard drive from the beginning, try to change from IDE1 to IDE 2 and change the corresponding values in the BIOS, may be this will solve the problem and spare you the hard drive recovery fees.

When you power up your computer try to detect the spinning sound of your hard drive. If the hard drive is spinning but with a clicking sound then the problem is probably from the wear and tear in the axis of the hard drive. If there is no spinning sound at all then the problem may be due to broken motor or due to bulged read/ write head. Some times the problem is not from inside the hard drive but, may be from the circuit board located outside. You can try to fix any of the previous problems by either of these solutions.

The simplest solution is applying the “freeze, hit and drop technique”. This was used by old professional hard drive recovery technicians to get the hard drive to work for a short time just to copy all the data from it. Get your hard drive out of the computer and put it in a freezer bag, to avoid moisture and condensate”, put it in the freezer over night and try to connect it to your computer in the morning and see what happened. Freezing could contract some components of the hard drive or fix a small breakage in the circuit board which enables a temporary hard drive recovery for a very short period. This permits copying some of the important data on the drive before it falls dead again.

Also you may try holding the hard drive while it is connected to the computer and when it starts to spin, twisted in a right angle manner then get it back to its original position, hard recovery experts say that this may loosen a bulged head or put it back on the track. These techniques may help in hard drive data recovery and could be used instead

Dealing with a hard drive failure case is something that needs caution and attention. Any wrong movement could cause a permanent loss of the data on the hard drive. However, there are several steps that could make calling a hard drive recovery expert is so much fruitful.

Let us start from the beginning, you have some information on a hard drive and you need to get it out before a dead line. The OS (operating system) has corrupted files, and it caused the hard drive to fail. All your trials to get the computer on track were complete failure. As you can see in this example, the data is not deleted but you can not access this information as the hard drive is not bootable.

In such situation you do not need a hard drive recovery expert because all what you need to to is to take your hard drive out of the computer and install it in another computer that is running properly so you can read the drive with windows explorer. After that you could copy all the important files to the other hard drive.

In other cases, the operating system is not the problem. The data loss may be due to a bad sector, accidental deletion of files or unintended formatting of the drive. If this is the situation, then you need to call a hard drive recovery expert to restore that lost data. The situation is so sensitive because any wrong move could cost you a permanent data loss.

The hard drive data recovery experts are able to retrieve the data in such case by using specialized software programs called “ data recovery software” . These software programs are capable of searching your hard drive for recently deleted and restore them back to their original status.

In order to get a successful hard drive recovery expert service, you should stop using your hard drive immediately after you discover the incidence of data loss. Any further attempt to write or save new information to the hard drive could result in permanent loss of the old data.

Also in cases of hard drive broken mechanism, the hard drive recovery expert can retrieve the data by fixing that broken mechanism using very complicated equipments. These equipments are not available just for every one but only for experts . So, if this is the case you are facing, then do not hesitate to give hard drive recovery expert a call

There are several steps to do in case you want to restore the biggest percent of data from your crashed hard drive. These steps ensure the safety of the data stored on that hard drive and prevent any accidental loss of these data. The first and most important step is to prevent any more saving for that hard drive. Any further saving of new data could over write the data intended to be restored.

After that, you should secure another hard drive before you intend to recover any data, because you need to have a free space to save your restored files. The free space should be grater than the size of the stored information.

After that you should purchase a hard drive data recovery software suitable for the file system of your hard drive. There are software programs suitable for FAT 12, 16, 32 and NTFS. Each hard drive recovery program contains various options and features. Try to choose the program that suits your needs, for example if your first concern are the e-mail messages then you will choose a data recovery program differ from that you will use when you restore video or music.

Sometimes when you tend to restore a hard drive, you get surprised that the hard drive is not spinning at all. The hard drive mechanical programs are a very sophisticated process. But when you come to the point that you have to restore the data stored on your hard drive, you have only 2 choices.

The first choice is preferred by many users who manage a business that is highly dependable on the computer. What make things worse is that the service is very expensive. If you can not risk your data then your final hard drive recovery solution is hiring an expert to restore these data for you. These experts will ensure that all your data is safe and sound and could be restored in a right way. Just try to negotiate the payment terms with them before they start fixing it.

If you cannot afford hiring a hard drive data Recovery Company then, may be you would like to take a look at the simplest way to restore hard drive. You can try the old technique used by the IT experts. It is called “freeze, hit and drop”; simply try to solve the problem that occurred to your hard drive by giving it a punch.

Unorthodox methods for hard drive recovery

Have you ever started your PC and were shocked with a non-responsive hard drive? Most of us ran into this at least once in a life time, although there are those lucky people who ran into this more than one time. Let me share some tips with you, I learned these tips through trial and error and they are pure practical experience.

This simple technique is called freeze it, hit it and drop it. Do not laugh, this is a proven technique tried out in many cases of hard drive recovery and worked out. I have to admit, it worked out for a temporary hard drive recovery but long enough to copy all the important data from the drive.  I also need to say that these tricks are last ditch solutions; I do not go for them except when I finish trying all the other standard solutions but with no significant result.

Freeze it, this old trick was used with small hard drives back in the 1980’s and 1990’s and worked out fine as a last solution. The theoretical base of this that freezing the metallic component of the hard drive can case some shrinkage in it and that will loosen any stuck parts and help aligning the track head with the track itself, leading into temporary hard drive recovery that allows you to copy the most important data into another drive. Put the hard drive into a lock back and put it in the freezer for the night, this will sort every thing out if the problem is a stuck part.

If the freezing does not solve the problem, try the hit it solution. Again, I must confirm that these solutions or tricks are last ditch solution where you have tried everything and still no results. Sometimes the writing heads of the hard disk may nudge with the hard drive platters leading into – no spin situation. If this is the case you are facing try the “ hit it” hard drive recovery technique. With the hard drive well connected to the PC, turn on the PC and when the hard drive tends to spin, hit it from the 4 sides. In some case this is more than enough for getting it back to spinning, although this is also temporary but, hard drive recovery even for few minutes would be more than enough.

The last technique is the drop it, where you are supposed to drop your PC from a 10 inch high elevation to let the mechanical parts loosen up.

How does hard drive recovery work?

There are a lot of software programs in the market now which are able to restore deleted files, have you ever wondered how these software programs really work? By knowing how these programs really work, you will be able to take the right steps, in case of data loss, in order to make sure that the hard drive data recovery is successful.

First of all, let us know how the hard drive works. The hard drive consists of several disks of storage media with several writing heads installed on them . There is a very fine mechanism that moves these heads to reach every part of that storage media. According to the hard drive model, these storage disks spin more than 5000 revolution per minute. More revolutions per minute lead to faster data access.

The hard drive contains a record called the MBR “Main Boot Record” that is where all the data is indexed in the hard drive. Knowing all of these facts can make us understand why we are able to retrieve deleted data.

The point is, when you delete a file from your hard drive, it is not physically deleted but it is removed from the main directory of the hard drive so the computer consider it as it does not exist. But, it is still located on the hard drive.

When you intend to save new information to your hard drive, the hard drive starts to find a proper location to store these data, at that point the “marked deleted files” are considered as free space. Even in case of hard drive formatting, hard drive data recovery is still possible because formatting does not mean deleting the data existing on the hard drive but deleting their index from the hard drive.

As a conclusion of all these facts, the wisest move that you could do when you accidentally delete a file is to stop using that drive till you perform a hard drive recovery process. In this way, you avoid writing any new data on the deleted ones.

Always keep a backup copy of your important files in a separate drive, preferably an external one, in order to minimize the risk of data loss. Knowing all of these information about the hard drive data recovery, makes it easier for us to determine which hard drive recovery software to use and what to do to keep our data safe.

Simple remedies for a hard drive crash.

If you have a hard drive that is stuffed with your business or family data and it refuses to work then you should consider having a hard drive recovery solution. There is more than one solution for such a situation.

First the most convenient solution is the hard drive recovery software solution. This is the best solution, assuming that the hard drive is physically working. You can get an alternative hard drive with a proper capacity and install it as a Master and install the hard drive that needs recovery as a Slave. Boot from the master hard drive then run the hard drive recovery software from the same master hard drive. If every thing goes well then you would be able to restore the information on that hard drive.

If you are willing to pay couple of hundreds or even couple of thousands to get the data on your hard drive then you can put your mind at ease and call one of the reputable hard drive recovery services to get your hard drive recovered. But even if you are willing to pay, you should always make sure that you have an agreement with the company that if the hard drive recovery process came out with nothing then you are not going to pay anything. In other words, you will pay if there are real restored data is delivered to you and nothing else.

If the first solution is not applicable and the second one is over your budget then your last chance is to try the last ditch tricks. Please remember to go for this solution if all the other standard solutions are useless. Try to freeze your hard drive over the night in the freezer; this technique is used in case of the hard drive reading head is stuck to the platters. Freezing the driver contracts the components and loosens it, leading to temporary hard drive recovery that permits copying the data to another alternative drive.

Changing the board circuit of the hard drive could be a useful option if you have another identical hard drive. Try to locate another hard drive having the same electrical information on it. Hard drive recovery in that case could be permanent if you were able to get an identical board circuit that will control your hard drive storage media in a proper way. Sometimes slightly different board circuits could be able to start your hard drive for a short period so incase you change the board circuit, do not rely on this hard drive as your primary hard drive anymore. Once hard drive recovery is completed, copy all the recovered data to another hard drive as soon as possible

Survive Hard Drive Recovery

If you are from those who save all of their stuff on the computer then you have to preserve your hard drive well. There are some precautions that you should take, just to make sure that all your data are in a safe place or even you can easily perform a hard drive recovery plan.

The first thing you need to do is to make sure that your computer is well protected from electric current fluctuation, as this problem causes a major sector of hard drive failures. Using an electric current stabilizer is the best solution. Hard drive recovery from such a problem is very sophisticated.

After securing the electric current you could take care of the data itself, you need to set a plan for regular back up of these data. A successful plan is based on some points: the type of data to be saved, how frequent does this data change, what part of this data is important to you. All these points can define the structure of your back up plan.

The last point in the back up plan that you make sure it is working; you must pretend that there is a drive failure and initiate a hard drive recovery drill. Succeeding in restoring data from your back up files will give you idea about the process and how can you perform the same steps in the real time.

Making sure that you hard drive recovery plan is working, will save you a lot of money and time. But in sometimes data loss is not due to electric power problems or back up failure but, sometimes data loss is due to accident. In this case your only solution is the hard drive recovery programs; there are several products in the market which are making really good results in restoring lost data from hard drive.

The only thing that is really important in such case of accidental deletion of data is to stop using the hard drive as hard drive recovery percentage depends mainly on leaving the hard drive not used till the data is restored. Using the hard drive or writing to it, can put the probability of retrieving data from your hard drive in danger.

You would also need to secure another drive where you will store the retrieved data on. This drive could be another hard disk , a zip drive or a flash memory drive.

Beginners guide for hard drive recovery

Have you ever lost some files from your hard drive? Did you delete some files by mistake and wanted to recover them back? All of the computer users went through this at least once in a life time. This critical situation could be solved through technician and computer savvy through some programs and hard drive recovery experts. But, what about the ordinary users? Should you surrender to what happened and forget about the lost files?

The answer is definitely no. first you should look for the deleted file in your recycle bin because if you find it there then, all you need to do is to restore it back in a single click and every thing will be settled. If you could not find these files in the recycle bin, do not panic. There is still a chance to get these files back.

You had to stop using the hard drive because when you delete a file from the hard drive it is not physically removed but only it is removed from the directory so it would not appear again except by using a hard drive recovery program.

If you tend to write on the hard drive again before using the hard drive recovery program then the new info may be written over the old info marked as deleted. In this case retrieving these old files will be very hard and nearly impossible.

So after you stop using the hard drive and preparing the suitable hard drive recovery software, you have to prepare another location to store the retrieved files on it as you can not write anything on the hard drive to avoid loosing the data.

You could store the retrieved data on another hard drive in the same computer, an external hard drive, memory stick or a CD. When you choose to write these files to a CD, be aware to check that your hard drive recovery program writes directly on the CD without copying the files first to a temporary file on the hard drive. Writing the files to a temporary file is the same as saving new files to the hard drive; both of them should be avoided.

After you restore the files to the alternative hard drive, check them to make sure that they are restored in a proper way. If you find a file restored in a wrong way then try to use the hard drive recovery program to restore it again.
